A notorious criminal operating in Rivers State has been killed. He was named Honest Digbara, but renamed himself Bobosky. He died shortly after he was arrested by the Nigerian Army.
Bobosky had earlier been arrested in Rivers State, in 2019 but he later escaped and continued his criminal activities.
The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike placed 30 million naira bounty on him. The dangerous criminal was said to have murdered a director in a government agency during a violent eruption.
He and members of his gang–including his younger brother terrorized various communities in Rivers State and Ogoni in particular. Their activities led to an increase in the rate of insecurity in the state. Some security agents had attacked his hideout in Koro Community where he exchanged gunfire with the security personnel. He was captured alive before dying in custody, from injuries sustained during the attack.
The death of Bobosky has marked the end of terror in Ogoniland, at least for now. He is alleged to have kidnapped a Divisional Crime Officer in Rivers State and murdered him despite collecting 7 million naira ransom.
