School Feeding: ICPC uncovers N2.67 billion loot

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) discovers 2.67 billion NGN in a private account. The diverted money was budgeted for the Federal Government School Feeding Program designed for pupils in Federal Schools.

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development had claimed that it spent far more than 500 million NGN, feeding school pupils during the lockdown. However, not many people were convinced that feeding pupils during the Covid-19 lockdown was possible or can be transparent.

Investigations reveal that 2.67 billion NGN was diverted and stored in a private account. The owner of the account was a former staff of the Ministry of Agriculture who is now late.

Prof Bolaji Owasanoye made the claims during the 2nd National Summit on “Diminishing Corruption” held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
