-President Buhari released a statement saying he had given marching orders to the Armed Forces to root out insurgents from Borno.
-He had earlier stated, through his media aide, Garba Shehu, that the killings are senseless.
President Muhammadu Buhari has directly reacted to the killings in Borno state. After sending a high-powered delegation to the state, he has released a statement through his social media handle.
On Monday, the president reaffirmed his commitment to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians. The massacre in Borno was a wake-up call for Buhari, whose administration has claimed victory over the Boko Haram terrorists.
From his post via his social media handle, the president declared that he would not be taking the matter with a pinch of salt.
Nothing is more important than ensuring the security of lives and property of Nigerians. Everything is secondary when security is at stake. I will ensure that more resources are made available to the military and other security agencies to prosecute the war against terrorism.
