A recent development has shown the political maturity of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his Abia State counterpart, Okezie Ikpeazu. Both governors have been engaged in a war of words over Ikpeazu’s exit from the Peoples Democratic Party.
The Abia State governor became the latest South East governor to join the All Progressives Congress. Together with his host Nyesom Wike, he commissioned Chief Orabule Adiele Road.
The road was constructed by Governor Nyesom Wike in the Rumuolumeni community of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. The governor has also completed many road projects in the state.
The event took place on December 24, 2020, and it generated mixed reactions from supporters of the APC and PDP. This is because they see both governors as political rivals following Ikpeazu’s defection.
