The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has shifted the date for Batch B, Stream II, orientation exercise. It was moved from January 5, 2021, to January 18, 2021. This was done after due consultation with the Nigerian Center for Diseases Control (NCDC).
The information was made available on new year’s eve. However, the number of Covid-19 cases in Nigeria has risen significantly over the past few weeks. Many are scared of another lockdown.
The declaration of a lockdown in Nigeria, in March 2020 affected the NYSC calendar. The schedules for orientation camps were canceled to prevent the spread of the virus.
All NYSC camps in Nigeria have been adapted to suit the recommendations of the NCDC. The Director-General of the NYSC, in his new year message implied that the Batch B stream II Corps members will soon be in camp.
“I charge you all, including the incoming 2020 Batch B Stream II corps members to work conscientiously and harmoniously towards building a strong, indivisible, hate-free, and economically viable nation.”
