The NFL regular season is coming to a close after yet another campaign of exhilarating action. With every team playing at least 15 of their 17 games, the playoff picture is nearly compete with just a couple of places left and one division without a winner at the time of writing.

The teams who will be appearing in the playoffs so far are: the Kansas City Chiefs, LA Chargers, Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings.

The Super Bowl is of course the biggest date on the US sporting calendar every year and this year is no different. The 57th edition of the biggest game in America will take place on February 12 2023 at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Such a big night takes some preparing, and here is how you can do just that.

Whether it’s on YouTube, Twitter, in the paper, ESPN, you name it: there will be thousands upon thousands of hours dedicated to researching the best bets to place on the Super Bowl by millions of experts. 2023 Super bowl odds currently have the Kansas City Chiefs as favorites, but that does not necessarily mean it is the best bet to make. Take your time to read up on it before you jump into wagering.

Support a team

Now, if your team make it to the Super Bowl: congrats. You have around three hours of potentially the most nail biting action of your life waiting for you with ever immense heartbreak or euphoria at the end. If, however, you are a neutral, then it can be fun to pick a team to root for heading into the game. Everyone loves an underdog story so why not back the Rocky of Super Bowl LVII. Or maybe you’re just a glory hunter who wants to be on the winning side, and who can blame you, go for the favorite. You may even want to back a team because they are playing your rivals— Bears fans, if the Packers make it then you know who to root for. Whoever you choose, having some sort of connection to one of the teams that is playing no matter how loose can make the game even more enjoyable.

Attend a Super Bowl party

Away from the festivities and of course the Super Bowl commercials, one of the best things about the Super Bowl is the viewing parties. As well as being surrounded by your favorite people be they friends and/or family, you can also spend your time stuffing your face with great food and drink. Everyone has a Super Bowl speciality whether its wings, nachos or pizza; you want something to munch down whilst you watch. You can even play games such as commentary bingo, where every person has a card full of phrases that can be ticked off should they be uttered by the commentary team. If you’re considering attending the game in person, you can find Super Bowl tickets at TicketSmarter to ensure you’re right in the middle of the action.

Super Bowl LVII is sure to be one of the most exciting sporting events of the year and we have already been spoiled by an exciting regular season. Let’s take a quick look at the teams and players who have performed well in the lead up to the big one.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles were a huge surprise package early in the season. They went eight games in a row with Ws before a minor slip up against the Washington Commanders, then went on to win their next five in a row. With a playoff place secured, they have emerged as one of the favorites to lift the Vince Lombardi trophy this year. QB Jalen Hurts has had an incredible year and deserves at least an appearance in the Super Bowl to cap it off.

Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen has continued to prove why he is arguably the best dual threat QB in the league throughout the year. With over 700 rushing yards and 32 TDs, his partnership with wide receiver Steffon Diggs has lit up the league this season and they also find themselves amongst the leading candidates for this years winners.

Kansas City Chiefs

It is no surprise to see Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes back in contention for the Super Bowl. The two have led the Chiefs to seven straight divisional championships, two conference championships and a Super Bowl win in 2019 as well as another appearance the following year in a losing effort to the Buccaneers. They are likely to be around the best teams in the league for quite some time and many rival fans fear a new dynasty à la the New England Patriots.
